            Born in the independent Greek city-state of Syracuse around 287 BC.  Archimedes is   known as the
            father of integral calculus and the father of mathematical physics.  He is regarded as the most
            important mathematician of antiquity and one of the three most important mathematicians of all times.
            He was killed by a Roman soldier during the siege of Syracuse.
