Option 7 Garden Video
2014-2015 Fairchild Challenge MS
The Challenge
School gardens and green spaces can help improve the biodiversity of a school's environment. Students will create a video showcasing how their gardens and/or green spaces help in the conservation and biodiversity of South Florida's unique ecosystems.
Challenge 7: Action Plan: Gardens and Green Spaces
Our team dropped in on Mr. Kearns, sponsor of the Green Club. We asked him questions about our school garden and arboretum.
Mr. Kearns told us about when our green spaces were established and what the land had been used for before. He told us about how our garden and arboretum help with conseration and promote biodiversity. Mr. Keans also shared examples about how classes from different departments in our school use the arboretum.
Part of our team recording in the arboretum during a class activity.
Thank you to the students that worked to prepare our video entry for option seven of the 2014-2015 Fairchild Challenge for middle school. Have a look at the finished product.
