Welcome to the Assistive Technology Demo Lab!
The Assistive Technology Demo Lab, part of the Florida Diagnostic & Learning
Resources Systems, South (FDLRS-S), is located on the campus of Horace
Mann Middle School, 8950 NW 2nd AVE, Miami, Florida, 33150. The AT Demo
Lab maintains a number of assistive technology devices within the lab setting.
This assistive technology lab offers an environment for application, research,
and training to faculty, students, parents, and all community stakeholders.
For faculty, current and future teachers, this lab is a training and research
tool. Teachers, staff, and future teachers at the many local colleges and
universities can have exposure to assistive technology through class
presentation's, workshops, and hands-on training.
For students with disabilities, the Demo Lab allows equal access to software and computer programs for all Miami-Dade
County Public Schools students, especially special needs students.
For researchers, this lab offers an ideal setting to gather information about the utility of assistive devices in educating and
training teachers, students, parents, future teachers and the impact of assistive technology training towards utilization in the
classroom. As a training tool the lab is ideal in that all teachers can have exposure to assistive technology through class
presentations, workshops, and hands-on training if desired. The AT Demo Lab also offers on-demand Virtual Online Training
via either Adobe Connect and or Elluminate.
