Hi! ...
My name is Heidy Roman and I am your child's Fourth Grade
Gifted Teacher. My teaching career started in the Fall of 2000. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
and a Master's degree in Reading & Curriculum Instruction. I can
honestly say that I have enjoyed every minute I have spent in the
classroom. In 2004,
I was voted our school's Teacher of the Year! My strengths in
the classroom are Reading, Writing, & Grammar. I love to create thematic
units and engaging lessons. I also enjoy introducing the children to
new authors and genre. I do my best to enrich children's learning
experiences through thought and inquiry in our daily discussion.
Furthermore, I enjoy creating fun and meaningful projects for my
students by integrating technology and content as often as possible.
There is something about the curiosity and energy that young
children exhibit that keeps me motivated and passionate about
teaching. My goal as an educator, is to foster different learning
styles, encourage creativity and critical thinking. My
main goals in the classroom this year is to maintain my enthusiasm
and energy towards learning. Hopefully, I can pass that onto my
students. When I am not in the classroom, I love to spend time with my beautiful family. I am a mommy of three. I have a 13 year old daughter named Gabriella, a 6 year old son named Jorge Luis, and a 4 year old daughter named Isabella. My hobbies include taking pictures, shopping, scrap booking, craft shows, decorating, collecting Precious Moments (I currently own over 250 pieces) and working on our website (obviously). I am also the person responsible for our school's website. Finally, on my free time, I love to read books! My favorite children's authors are Roald Dahl, and Kate DiCamillo, just to name a few.
