As summer vacation approaches,
students will be enjoying their time off for some "fun in
the sun"! This is also a great time to catch up on some
recreational reading. Since reading can be done
anywhere at anytime, students will be required to
complete a Summer Reading Project during their summer
vacation. The completed project is to be brought to me
during the first day of school. This will be
your child's first reading grade for the new school year.
Choose one novel from this list below. If you choose a series
novel, please read the first novel from the series.

Choose one project to do for your novel from the list below.
Be Creative!
1.
Create
a timeline of the major events in your book. Use
drawings or magazine cutouts to show the events
along the timeline. Label each event.
2.
Make a
colorful poster advertising your book so someone else will
want to read it. Be very persuasive and creative.
3.
Draw a
large portrait of the main character and write a
descriptive summary to accompany your sketch. Attach
your summary to the back of your sketch.
