Hi! ... My name is Heidy Roman and I am your child's second grade teacher. This is my tenth year teaching second graders. In 2004, I was voted our school's Teacher of the Year! My strengths in the classroom are Reading, Writing, Grammar, & Math. I love to do thematic units, poetry, and introduce the children to new authors and different genres. I also love to do hands on activities, use manipulatives, and enrich your child's learning experiences through thought and inquiry. I love the curiosity and energy of young children and I am looking forward to introducing them to the wonderful world around them by integrating content in all areas. My main goals in the classroom this year is to maintain my enthusiasm and energy towards learning. Hopefully, I can pass that onto my students. When I am not in the classroom, I love to spend time with my beautiful family. I am a mommy of three. I have a 9 year old daughter named Gabriella, a toddler named Jorge Luis, and a baby daughter named Isabella. My daughter Gabriella is also a part of the Joe Hall Family. She's excited about being a fifth grader this year! My hobbies are taking pictures, scrap booking, craft shows, decorating, collecting Precious Moments (I currently own over 250 pieces) and working on our website (obviously). I am the person responsible for our school's and classroom website. Finally, on my free time, I love to read books! My favorite children's authors are Kevin Henkes, Kate DiCamillo, and Helen Lester, just to name a few.
