Welcome to 3T's
Teaching Through Technology

On October 1st, I had the honor of visiting Shambaugh Elementary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  There I met Mrs. Beer and her extraordinary students and assistants.  I have come back speechless! Mrs. Beer is a phenomenal teacher and there are no words that could ever explain how amazed I was at the things she does for her students.
As a means of getting her students and mine involved in an innovative teaching strategy, we will soon be participating in distance learning activities via live internet feeds.

What is 3T’s?

A learning approach that includes teaching with technology  whereby students from around the world will be able to interface simultaneously to carry out a lesson

An approach to using technology as a means of actively engaging  in learning                              (i.e. digital storytelling, websites, blogs, wikis)

The ability to connect around the world, communicate, and travel without leaving the classroom

An opportunity to utilize modern technology in our everyday world

How will it affect the way we teach?

Teaching will now include:

  • LIVE distance learning lessons with classrooms in another city, state, and even country

  • SMARTBoards

  • Webcams

  • Digital Storytelling

  • Podcasts

  • Wiki's

  • Blogs

  • and so much more

When and how will it go into effect?

Our goal is to get you, as the teacher, to begin using technology as a means of teaching.  The sooner we begin to implement technology in our daily lessons; the sooner students will show an enthusiasm towards learning.  Certainly, it will take some extra planning, but it is not impossible. Begin by surveying the technology your students are already using in their daily lives. Then, incorporate that technology into your lessons. Finally, thrive on becoming a digital learner just like students of the 21st century.

Its time to throw out the markers,

save the paper,

lose the text books,

 and become 21st century learners!!!!!

If you are a teacher interested in participating with either my class or a general education class, please send me an  e-mail so that you too can become a 21st century learner.

At this time I am looking to collaborate with another self-contained class for students with autism.  If you or someone you know might be interested in collaborating, please let me know.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
