These are some of the messages that parents left for their children during our Open House. They were asked to write about the first time they saw their children, and what it meant for them...

"When Oliver was born on December 27,
1993, he cried for one minute until we were able to hold him. Then he had his
first meal and smiled and has not stopped smiling since. We both felt that we
were so very lucky to have a beautiful baby boy in our arms with big brown eyes
that twinkle. The first word that you said Oliver, we are almost certain was
either "toy" or "lego". We love you more than the moon, more
than the sun and much, much more than the big ocean. Portate bien, love,

To Veronica :
The day I first saw you was the day you were born. I was very happy that you were my little girl. You looked very little and were crying a lot. I was very happy that you were a healthy baby girl.

To Rachel,
On the day that I first saw you I was a
little scared because you were a little blue. But then you turned a
beautiful shade of pink and I knew that everything was okay. I was so
happy to see you and was thankful to God that you were well!

The first time I saw Alexander Ellis
was the happiest moment of my life.
You were the most beautiful child I ever saw. You were tiny and had a soft
white downy hair all over. You were soft and warm. I knew you were
the one I had waited for. I knew I would love you forever. I knew in
my heart you would be the beautiful boy you are inside your heart. I love
you so much.
Love Mommy.

To Daniel D.
The day you were born was one of the most
happiest days of my whole life. I felt and still feel as the luckiest
mother on earth to have such a wonderful, caring and loving child. The day
Daniel was born, he was the most beautiful baby in the world. Kiddo, you
turned out to be very handsome and sweet. My first thought was how lucky I
am to have you and be able to love you unconditionally!
Love, hugs and kisses,

to Emma
" Dear Emma. Unfortunately, I was very ill when you were born, so I did not
get to see you right away. You were very tiny and needed to be kept warm in an
incubator. You were my little miracle and I knew I had never loved anyone more
in my whole life. Your Mommy."
to Max
" Dear Max, I thought it was a miracle
that you were born. I was scared because you were sick. You looked tiny but
cute. Love your Dad"
"Dear Max: When you were born I was very sick and so were you. So I
only saw you for one minute before they rushed you to another hospital. I
thought you were a tiny miracle and I loved you more than I ever loved anyone in
my whole life. Your Mom"
