Growing an Avocado Tree in Our Class

We waited for several weeks until the roots came out of our avocado seed

A long skinny trunk began to grow, and soon we had several leaves

During several months we took good care of it, taking it outside when we went out to recess.

We took turns carrying it.

Finally, the day came when our little tree was strong enough so that we could plant it outside.

On Earth Day, Mr. Larkin dug a hole and planted our tree!

Mrs. Barrios and Mr. Diaz also planted flowers for Earth Day
