This unit introduces children to learning about people's needs, cultures, and celebrations.

  • Americans share many customs.

This unit introduces children to learning about time and change and the history of our country.

  • Things change all the time.
  • Families share their history through stories.
  • Like people, places also grow and change over time.
  • Many groups lived in North and South America before Columbus arrived.
  • Our country's history is made up of many people and the things they did.
  • We celebrate holidays to remember our history.
  • People who do important things are heroes we remember.

    Jobs People Do
   
This unit introduces children to learning about the jobs people do to earn money, and about goods and services.

  • People depend on one another for goods and services.
  • People work together to make goods in a factory.
